Ruchika Sachdeva

UMBAI: Once again fashion designer Ruchika Sachdeva created a fashionable stir on the ramp with her "Bodice" label at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 show. Her inspirations moved from history to machines and from architecture to anatomy with a marked androgynous touch. This season Ruchika was inspired by the beauty of the deep sea and marine life for her colours, textures and silhouettes.

There was a beautiful play of contrasts as natural shades danced merrily with acidic pops of hues. The deep sea came alive on the ramp with lemons, corals, greens and of course blue. The surface texturing was a delight, as 3D motifs appeared to create new dimensions. The silhouettes moved from playsuits, to maxi, and then some interesting dresses, jackets and blouses.

It was the unconventional construction which is a strong factor in Ruchika's collection. The addition of contrasts in an intriguing manner was the surprise element of the garments. Shoulders were layered, skirts had external peplum panels, and drop crotch pants were teamed with blouses with opulent contrast attachments.

For the bold inspiring woman who wants instant attention, Ruchika Sacheva's "Bodice" label will provide all the right options.
