The Bomkai sari, also known as Sonepuri sari, originates from Bomkai village in Ganjam district of Odisha. This type of sari has a fascinating history that dates back to the 8th century. The intricate weaving techniques and designs that define the Bomkai sari are said to have been mastered by the Bhanja rulers.

Garad Silk sarees
The word Garad (or Gorod) means white and refers to undyed silk. Such is the Garad silk saree, presented with a plain white or gray body, and the border with an unembellished shade, and the plain Pallav. The most common of Garad sarees have white, red and Pallav body. Garad silk (pronounced Garod) is one of the popular types of sarees. It has its origin in West Bengal. Otherwise known as Gorod, the word Garad means 'white'. Garad silk sarees are known for their red and small paisley motifs. The silk fabric used to weave Garad sarees is colourless. Which keeps the lack of texture flawless. In this way, these sarees have a sacred significance for women in Bengal. Murshidabad region of West Bengal has expertise in weaving these Sarees. In this, the silk threads are woven close to each other which gives the saree a beautiful look. Varieties in the border and Pallav shades of the Garad saree are usually accessible in blue, orange, green, earthy, dark, gold. The korial saree is generally worn during the Sindoor Khela during Durga Puja.

Nauvari saree, also known as the 9-yard sarees, or Lugade Saree has been an essential part of the traditional attire of women in Maharashtra.It is said that every Maharashtrian woman takes pride in her Nauvari sarees. Be it a puja (ritual), a wedding or a festival like Gudi Padwa, Ganeshotsav (Ganesh Chaturthi), Champa Shashti or Narali Poornima, wearing a Nauvari saree is a must for every Marathi woman.
