Garad Korial Saree – Worn In Kolkatta At The Time Of Durga Puja

Garad Silk sarees

Garad Korial Silk Saree Durga puja

The word Garad (or Gorod) means white and refers to undyed silk. Such is the Garad silk saree, presented with a plain white or gray body, and the border with an unembellished shade, and the plain Pallav. The most common of Garad sarees have white, red and Pallav body. Garad silk (pronounced Garod) is one of the popular types of sarees. It has its origin in West Bengal. Otherwise known as Gorod, the word Garad means 'white'. Garad silk sarees are known for their red and small paisley motifs. The silk fabric used to weave Garad sarees is colourless. Which keeps the lack of texture flawless. In this way, these sarees have a sacred significance for women in Bengal. Murshidabad region of West Bengal has expertise in weaving these Sarees. In this, the silk threads are woven close to each other which gives the saree a beautiful look. Varieties in the border and Pallav shades of the Garad saree are usually accessible in blue, orange, green, earthy, dark, gold. So on a regular basis, small paisley and floral motifs adorn the edges and Pallav of the Garad saree. However, there is almost no design in the body of the saree.

Garad-Korial Saree: Widely worn in Kolkata at the time of Durga Puja.

Bengali women appreciate the simplicity of these sarees to preserve their sacred quality and wear them in the most perfect fashion.

The Garad Silk and Korial Saree Connect

The Korial Saree is a close alternative to the Garad Silk Saree. West Bengal is a rich state producing a variety of sarees such as Taant cotton sarees, Baluchari Sarees, Dhakai Jamdani sarees, and Batik Sarees, along with Garad silk sarees. However, there is another style of Bengali saree that follows the design and style of the Garad silk saree. It is called Korial sarees. Every Bengali woman wherever in the world she lives, wants to claim a Garad or Korial saree in her wardrobe. The edges of Garad sarees are special in shades, generally red and maroon which gives it a lovely look. Then, the Korial saree (also called Laal Paar sari) is indistinguishable from the Garad saree except for the border which is more distinct in plan and red in shade. The funny thing about Garad saree from Korial saree is that the former has small floral and paisley themes on the length of the saree while the latter is white with red color. The korial saree is generally worn during the Sindoor Khela during Durga Puja.

When we talk about clothes that perfectly combine tradition with modernity, Dhakai Jamdani sarees must be given a lot of space to talk about. From the old Mughal rule, these sarees are a popular type of ethnic wear in the state of Bengal. The material used to make these beautiful sarees is a thin fabric like muslin which is found in Bangladesh.

How to clean white shoes TOP TIP:

CLEANING WHITE SHOES

If you are like us, you like your white shoes to stay 'clean and sweet' and sometimes keeping your shoes can be difficult, or it is not?

Need to know how to clean white shoes?

Look no further, here are some simple tricks you can try at home!

What are the options?

There are many ways you can make white shoes look like new again and most of them use basic household products that you probably already have at home!

Here are our cleaning methods to clean white shoes, sandals or boots:

Hot soapy water:

Good for cleaning shoes made of all materials, add about a cup of dish soap to a cup of warm water and stir. Using a cloth or toothbrush, gently rub the shoes until they are clean, wipe off excess water and leave to dry for several hours.

Baking Soda and White Vinegar:

Great for canvas shoes but also suitable for other types of shoes. Mix one tablespoon of warm water with one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda to make a paste. Using a toothbrush, scrub the shoe in a circular motion, then leave the shoe to air for several hours before brushing and shaking the paste dry.

Lots of bleach:

An effective way to clean leather shoes if you do it in a well-ventilated area while protecting your skin and eyes. Create a cleaning solution of one part bleach to five parts water (adding too much bleach can turn your shoes yellow), and brush it in a circular motion. When done, use a damp cloth to wipe the solution and let it dry for at least 5 hours.

Toothpaste

You can also try using toothpaste (white type instead of colored gel). Apply it to the entire shoe in a circular motion, paying attention to all the heavy spots. Leave it on for 10 minutes before wiping it with a wet towel and repeat if necessary.

Keeping your white shoes clean

Once your white shoes are looking new again, here are some helpful tips to help you keep them in top condition:

 Prevention is key:

Stop stains before they show up. by spot spraying and watering every few weeks. Although you still need to give them a good cleaning from time to time, this will make it harder for dirt and grime to get inside the shoes. Soaking in water is not suitable for patent shoes as it can wash away the shiny finish.

Stain Cleaning:

Treat stains or stains as soon as you see them. The longer you leave them, the harder it will be to remove them.

Avoid the washing machine:

While it may be tempting to throw your shoes in the washing machine, doing so can damage your shoes and make them look old prematurely (eep!).

If you've tried everything but your shoes are still worse for wear, maybe it's time to invest in a new pair. To ease the pain of saying goodbye to your old shoes, we've rounded up a variety of shoes to help you find your next favorite white pair!

Check for Nacre

The first thing to consider before buying a pearl necklace is the nacre that is on the pearl. The thickness and number of layers for the pearls are important things to know before purchasing a delicate pearl necklace. It is also the defining factor of most pearl necklaces.

Check the Luster

Another important thing to look for before buying a pearl necklace is to see the luster of the pearl for the necklace or any type of jewelry. The outer parts of the pearls must be shiny and they should also have a light to them. The luster and luster of pearls also determines the price of pearl necklaces and earrings.

Look at the color

Pearls come in a variety of colors and the color of the outer body of the pearl should also be considered before buying one. You can check the excess and the part of the pearl. Natural pearls are the best, but you can also choose some necklaces that are dyed in different colors.

Styling with pearl necklaces

The beauty of pearl necklaces never really goes out of style. Women can wear them with any type of dress, Indian or western, formal or informal. They can choose to wear a beautiful antique pearl necklace made by their grandmother or a modern silver pearl necklace with crystal flecks; they will be equally stylish in both cases! The only caveat when it comes to accessorizing with pearl necklaces is that they should not be lost in the ensemble. So, a simple pearl string will be a perfect accessory for a simple chiffon saree. However, with a more embroidered georgette anarkali, an embellished pearl necklace and earrings would be a better option. When matching a more modern and daring ensemble, such as a net saree or a deep tunic dress, women can opt for modern accessories such as large pearl necklaces. With a sophisticated wedding lehenga, traditional gold and pearl necklaces can be a good choice. The pearl necklace can be combined with most colors and shades. However, their beauty is best highlighted by soft pastel colors, monochrome colors and soft metallic colors. Heavy and more elaborate necklaces with gold plating are the only ones as they will look good even with heavy and vibrant wedding sarees.
